This has to be the worse game Argentina has ever played (IMO and yes I am a die hard Argentina fan, but I know when they are not on their game). The fact that Ortube really did not do even a half ass job of keeping up with what was going on with this game (I counted at least 2 red cards and a few yellows that should have been made) was just the tip of the iceberg here today!

From the start of the game Ecuador had a game plan; first running down (or mauling) Argentina and pretty much kicking the hell out of them to running down the clock, they had a plan.

The facts are: The goal Urrutia scored could have been prevented and was weak! Abbondanzieri needs to be replaced! He is far passed his prime. However Argentina (Aside Messi, Veron, Mascherano (who really played well and hopefully is not injured too bad), Demichelis and a short run from Gago...who is really going strong and I expect to see a lot from that guy.) played like shit today! There was no connection! Riquelme was just not in the game at all, I personally think this is the worse he has ever played. What was Basile thinking keeping him on?!

Aguero is just too damn young to be in these games! I mean even the game we won in San Diego against Mexico, I knew he was just not ready - it was obvious today...Messi carried the team for the most part (he is a true champion!) but as I stated in my copa america blog - one man can not win for a whole team (Maradona was that one exception and Messi is as close to him as could be, hell maybe they should give #10 to him, Riquelme for sure does not deserve it - he sure the hell didn't today.) and Aguero could have made, what 3 goals...I mean he was just not ready and for Basile to put him in (and keep him in) was just unreal to watch (gritting my teeth the whole game).

Cruz, well he is just Cruz! He is hard to watch 99% of the time. Burdisso and Heinze they played horrible! The whole game was just slow and thankfully Palacio made 1 goal in the last few seconds of the game, but if they are going to beat Brazil, they are going to have to step it up and now with Demichelis suspended for the Brazil game, well it is not going to be a cake-walk . Today was really depressing to watch. Thankfully Brazil did not win today, so that is something to smile about. I guess we just have to see what goes down on Wednesday!
