I know that there are a lot of Arsenal fans frustrated at how long Samir Nasri's transfer has gone on fearing the deal might not go through. I initially thought that as he is meant to be Hleb's replacement, we would have to wait until Hleb departs for the deal to be completed. I have been informed, however, that the deal has been delayed due to French tax implications and with tommorow being the start of the new frenc tax year, expect the deal to be sewn up soon after. He'll hopefully sign before the end of the week and I must say I'm looking forward to seeing him play, he's got a confidence about him and knows that Arsenal would be good for him. He rejected a move to Real Madrid last summer so he could continue to develpop at Marseillle so we are talking about a player who seriously cares about his career.
This is in stark contrast to Hleb who wants a move away to the peace and quiet of Catalunya, a place where Henry was surprised at the media's 24/7 involvement with the team and players. To be perfectly honest, I'm not sure Barcelona are too keen on him anymore and haven't made a bid yet. I would be happy to let him go if we get Yaya Toure in return, a type of player we need.
My views on Adebayor is that, if he can, Wenger should keep him. AW is playing a very clever game though, I don't think he wants Ade to leave but he knows that evry player a price and 30m for Adebayor is hard to reject. I personally love to see Adebayor stay at the Emirates to see if he can maintain a 25-30 goals a season record. I've got to say though that our strike force of Van Persie, Eduardo, Bendtner, Vela and Walcott without injuries looks to be the most versatile and explosive in the league. Cant wait till it all kicks off again.
