Enquiries Made - Fernando Meira

White's His Colour

We've been a wooing again, according to the Germans.

This time it's Fernando Meira. Who he? Six foot three (I notice some of you are getting increasingly height concious about these targets) Portugeezer currently in the employ of VfB Stuttgart. Thirty year old centre back and if you ask me another potentially amazing addition to our occasionally Gerry Cottlesque back four.

His coach Horst Heldt was quoted by the highly esteemed Stuttgart Zeitung as saying, "Tottenham are the only club to have formally contacted us about him. Galatasaray and Panathinaikos have been mentioned too, but that's just in the media."

Let's hope the room the interview took place in wasn't too noisey. I'd hate to think this guy was simply ordering some Veiner Schnitzel and the for the want of a radio being on too loud this whole story is just fantasy.

Horst added that it was the player's task to identify the right club for himself and then that club's job to negotiate. You can't whack the Germans. No part of any impending processes being left to chance there, eh?

good work, this could be a big peice in our defensive puzzle and its always nice to have a player on the books who favours the slick look of a 1940 conman.

"Tottenham are the only club to have FORMALLY contacted us about him"

Fergie and Manuel take note of the correct procedure! Seriously though, Meira would be a cracking addition to our defence. Just the kind of experienced reinforcement we lacked last season.

HH any idea on his price?

Is it me or does the guy look a bit like Berby (apart from the fact that he is smiling!).. I have heard of a like for like replacement but that is just silly!!
Seriously, he would be a solid buy and give Juande scope to play a back three if he wants too.
All we need now is Commolli to bring back his two Russki boys (Arshey and Pavly) and Levy to work his magic on Bently, Capel and Milito and we have ourselves a team! Not a perfect team but a bloody good one. The only missing link would be a defensive midfielder, but I fancy us to pick up Albeida for that one.

I am a blog/blessay/blaragraph virgin, so go easy on me. I'm also very posh so I'll attempt to use the vernacular where possible.
So in summary, Berba and Keane def off, we sell our peripherals to Sunderland(to be now called Spurs B-side).Get Bentley. Get the Ass groomer, Pavlyuchenko or similarly tall striker, to at least physically replace the balletic Berba. Then become a highlights package for the Euros. Concerned about lack of abrasive midfielder, as ever. So Jimmy Tarbaaatt wants to play more in the first team...hmmmm, try the Palladium first luv.
Is it just me or does everyone just want one of the big player moves to happen so there's a hole to fill and the merry-go-round can lurch into action. For cunts sake. Oh I can talk common. Sniff. Love your site Harry, by the way.Good man press on.

His leg knee does look a little weird, but apart from that he looks in good shape. Bit shiny, but good shape. Also is that taarabt beating giovanni on the last photo? whats with that hand gesture. He can pack that in. Not having any of them lot at the lane, the french fop. Whilst im not talking about it, ive been watching arshavin on youtube. he is what id call ' very good ' , and therefore would benefit our team. I could do this management lark, piece of piss.

Gomes
King-----Woodgate-----Meira
Lennon--Bentley--Huddlestone--Modric--Capel
Arshavin
Bent

I fancy me some 3-5-1-1 action! What a midfield we would have. With the option of bringing on Bale and Hutton and switch to a 4-5-1 or 4-4-2.

Still not liking the idea of selling both Steed AND Tainio. I like them both, and Tainio I feel is underrated at our club. He's our only true ball-winner...Zokora just doesn't cut the mustard for me, or any other spicy condiment for that matter.

"Just remember one thing my son - no-one is bigger than the club. The club will be here long after you go. Us supporters ain't mugs (well, not too many!). To end - if you don't want us and our club ain't big enough for you, then f*ck right off." Dannyboy

"We're very lucky in the band in that we have two visionaries, David and Nigel, they're like poets, like Shelley and Byron. They're two distinct types of visionaries, it's like fire and ice, basically. I feel my role in the band is to be somewhere in the middle of that, kind of like lukewarm water." Derek Smalls
