Poyet Outright Favourite To Manage Toon

Add to bet basketGustavo Poyet 10/11 3 5/6 11/8 7/4 11/8 5/6 5/4 3 23/5 66/67

The cause for concern here is not the tumbling price but the lack of comment from Poyet himself. The last erie silences that came from The Lane were shortly before Keane fled to Liverpool and the rat crawled beneath Flushface's blanket.

The train wreck that is Newcastle United is still smouldering. Ashley's a card. The multichinnaire was on a bender in New York the night Keegan negotiations were falling apart. He allegedly slurred, "We've had a tiff with Keegan" to one reveller. His mind was clearly focused elsewhere as he continued to gallantly plough on through $200,000's plus worth of lash that night. Keegan, as you know, subsequently walked.

The likelihood of anyone in their right mind taking the job at St James is remote.  Keegan to come back it is then. The existance of Wise actually means that this is a poisoned chalice held by a poisoned dwarf. It's the Wise link that has the bookies backing Gus of course. They know how unpalatable the prospect of working with Wise would be , so the fact that these two have worked successfully before is the linchpin.

Bottom line? Statement please, Poyet.

Agree HH, Poyet should come out and say he's not interested, although it is the Tottenham way to keep quiet until a move has been sealed.
What are your thoughts on Campbell "hinting" that he can't wait to get some experience ready for next season with Rudolph and the Rat.
I for 1, was willing to give the lad a chance, but coming out with things like that before he's even played a game for us, not good.

He'd be mental to take that job. If Ashley sells the club he'll be out on his ear. I reckon he probably doesn't even need to entertain the idea.

One thing i would say is that "sources" have said we won't give them permission to speak to him. Well we've heard that before. If they bung Levy a tenner he'll bury his principles no probs

Ohhh how exciting the first to comment!!
And only the second time I've ever posted on here- I normally just enjoy and quietly agree or disagree to myself but this does concern me abit.
I remeber a few months ago Gus being tipped as Old Red Noses new assistant- something he came out quickly and put to bed. This time he hasn't been so quick off the mark.

I'd hate to lose Poyet. He's vital to the character within the club. If we lose him then it would be another big blow. Maybe Sheringham as the new no 2?

If it ever did happen... Which i can't see? Then Sheringham is a great shout as a No2 Mike, he is future management material also imo.

It's not gonna happen... The Geordie fans have already got it in for Wise, so i can't see him (DW) getting in his pal Poyet? It would be a PR disaster of massive proportions! I understand what you are saying Harry, about Poyet commenting on this... But the truth is he already said how happy he is at the Club, when Maunre were linked? If he had to comment on every bit of speculation he would go mad! Mark my words he is going nowhere.

As SpursDude mentioned, I am also concerned by Campbell's comments regarding looking forward to his united return.
Problem is, I thought we had turned over a new leaf with the Robbie & Berba saga in only keeping players commited to the clubs cause.
Now as a result of the last minute transfer scramble we have a loan player who already has his mind on Man united. Switched one United wantaway for another.
The rumours that Fergie practically ordered Campbell to take the spurs loan move makes it even more concerning.
I say keep him on the bench unless required and give Pav & Bent time (it may well take a while) to build up an understanding.

Very good point about committed players only, who should be at the Club, hopefully this is only a short term problem, which is swiftly resolved come January.

personally i feel our ideal number 2 in command should be able to speak spannish and english, so therefore i would like to nominate gloria estefan, after all, who in their right mind would not want her underneath them.

Lets give our own youth a chance and leave cambell to rot in our reserves as he obviously cant wait to get back to manchester.
I am sure our own home grown talent deserves it more than cambell ( and that name by the way ................ )

If I were Gus, I wouldn't dignify all the spec about Noocarsul with a response, who in their right mind would want to manage that mess?

On a side-note, I can hereby judge, according to the lad on loan's comments, that we've got another cunt called campbell playing for us.

Let him play in the stiffs for the season, I don't want him sent back to OT "a better player".

Jumped up little prick.

Cheryl Cole to take over at Newcastle. Cheryl & Ashley MkII. A match made in heaven.

I have a sneaking suspicion that a mate of Wise's will take over, but not our Gus. Zola, Gianfranco that is; not Budd.

Harry don't be hard on those 'bs' guys. They are pissed off and very upset with all the nonsense we have seen in the last few weeks, as I am. Now we have the manu kid talking like Berba and poyet has not made a statement. If Newcastle get the Indian than 6th place is the only one up for grabs behind city united arse chelskie, neuk. When you lose something so dear to you.... dont you feel like 'nothing really matters, nothing really matters to meeeeeeeeeeeeeeee'
