This just in then. From the Chairman of The Spurs Supporters Trust, no less.
I don't know if he was remotely corrupt in any way and if his detractors were actually on to something, but either way, a man's family ought be left out it.
I am writing to you today to let you know that at the Trust Board meeting on June 3rd 2008, I told my Board colleagues that I will be standing down as chairman of the Trust at the next AGM after almost 6 years.
Having been involved from the very start of the Trust, as a member of the original steering committee, it has been a genuine privilege to have been chairman. I have met some wonderful people across the country and indeed internationally that follow this great Club of ours and I look forward to staying in touch with as many of them as possible.
There are three main reasons behind my decision to stand down. Firstly, my responsibilities at work mean it is becoming increasingly difficult to dedicate the amount of time that is needed to the Trust at certain key times. Secondly, the time has come for someone else to take over and thirdly, with the chairmanship comes a level of exposure that sometimes results in a very high level of abuse, insinuation and accusation from some quarters. On a personal level, being fairly thick skinned I have managed and accepted that. However, when the mark is overstepped and my family are subjected to the same, I need to draw the line and I am doing so now.
In making this announcement ahead of the AGM, it will hopefully allow other Trust members to step forward and consider standing for election to the Board of the Trust, details of that process will be sent in due course by our Secretary. In the meantime, please note the date of the AGM in your diary - 30th October and full details will be confirmed shortly. As a reminder, it is the Trust Board that elects the Chairman from the Board after the AGM.
I will be staying on the Board and my role as Trustee of the Tottenham Tribute Trust is not affected by this announcement.
In closing, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Trust members, and indeed many other supporters who are not members of the Trust for their support and encouragement during my time as Chairman.
Yours in Spurs
Daniel

I think there may be more than one side to that story though. He must have brought attention himself in some sort of negative light, real or perceived.
Who'd want that position after that statement?
Please someone tell me this...
What must Pekhart be thinking, having been at spurs for a considerable amount of time, we ship him out yet again, only to borrow somebody elses prospect. I think its shameful and I'd be off if I were him.
He'll have plenty of time to read that Opus now...
That leaves the seat open for Mr. Personality, Paul Smith.
Harry, from where did the corrupt suggestion come? It is a statement that shows that the Trust were advised back in June; the Trust must answer why they did not nake it public and explain why they did not make an issue over the abuse that is being directed to both him and his family. The diversity of opinion over the performance of the Chairman & the club during the transfer window, illustrate the differing levels of IQ within our fan base. If someone is having his family abused because of his work for the club, then it shows we have an element of fan that must have come to us from another club. Criticism is the right of all fans but there has to come a point where some supporters detail their right to criticize. "Always followed them as a boy from my armchair" has the same vocal input as a 40 year season ticket holder? I would not think so.
Poor guy ... perhaps it was an issue with them lot from Spurs Od who targetted the wrong Daniel... so to Clarify this Daniel is Chairman of The trust... the other one is Chairman of the club please be sure to direct your abuse at the correct Daniel in future...
I know the man personally. A more class act there is not. You only have to read comments on blogs to understand how much abuse you can get being in a high profile position. There are a lot of narrow minded, obscene morons amongst our midst and it makes me cringe to know that many of them are Spurs fans.

They're all on the Spurs Odious site whining about the Gunter Conspiracy!
Nevermind, at least he has his 250quid a game deal as spurs commentator to fall back on
Complete aside but has anybody else looked on the official club site on the first team profiles ? according to the postions J2S has been thrown in the striker bracket... could have sworn yesterday he was mentioned as a m/f player from the announcement that was made on the transfers
Maybe I am mistaken or was the page looking a little imbalanced.....
Don't know what these issues are about but I have to speak as I find. I had correspondence with Daniel a few years ago and found him to be an arrogant twat.
Critism when in a high profile position is common but nothing can excuse bringing someones family into it. Its completely unacceptable and these people should be ashamed of themselves. I love my club but there is more to life than how our clubs trust is run. These people need to get a life!

"The club have already found a woman who can help with the move."
So says Pavlova, in reference to the assistance Spurs are providing to help him get settled.
Lucky boy.
maybe that was what Ramos called him about ?

They think of everything, eh?
Regarding the Frazier deal, I always thought his brother, Niles, was the more gifted. But I would have accepted Daphne on loan any day.
I think, now that Their Nibs Keane and Berbatov have gone, we might see a more relaxed and potent Mr Bent. Frankly, he has no choice but to deliver; otherwise we'll have to ask Gomes, using his pitch-long throw-outs, as an additional striker.
But, now that our erstwhile first-choice strikers are gone, Mr £16.5 mil won't feel that every failure is being over-scrutinised with a view to dropping him. Of course, the reverse could happen, and he might start taking his place for granted and chilling during matches.
But I can't see him doing that. Unless he wants to get sold to Manure.
I think the goal against Chelsea will give him confidence. It was the best chance he has had all season and not only did he score it but he did it with aplomb and on his weaker foot. Much like most of the finishes he had in pre-season he calmly slotted it.
I'm backing Benty to go on and build on that goal and well Pav, I know its a long shot but I can see him as being a bit of a revelation.
Do you guys think Bent will continue to start now that we have signed Pav?
Magoolio
Not too sure on that one. Benty will probably start against Villa and Pav will probably get the second half.
Will be interested to see if Ramos plays the two of them up front seeing as Villa is a home game.

Makes sense to start with two strikers at home. That'll be Pavlova and Campbell, then.
What are the chances of us seducing Monchi to the club? I know Levy is persona non grata at Sevilla but, if the Dame is on thin ice, he'd need replacing. Plus, that might lead to Capel's signature.
Shame Capel didn't come this time round. I was looking forward to giving White Hart Lane the second name of Capel Manor.
I would have thought that Pav could have found himself a woman in Moscow quite easily .. even i didnt have to struggle that hard when i went there

That is sad. The fact that other Spurs fans can throw abuse at a Spurs fan simply because he has a job at the supporters trust.
They aren't real fans and thats a sad indictment on a section of Spurs fans that give the rest of us a bad name.
I vote for JolsGoneMental as the new president.
