If this is true Harry, you are the man. If not, I'll sort you out cyber-style. But I would much prefer to see Huntelaar than Arshavin tbh. Harry I want an opinion. Papers have been saying that the Huntelaar price tag has put us off but I dont understand why? I would much rather have him then Arshavin who lets face it, is not an out-and-out goalscorer. I know Huntelaar wont come to us, but would you rather pay upwards of 20million for a younger, more prolific goalscorer, or upwards of 20 million for an older, less prolific forward. Despite what the papers say, I cant understand why a 20 million price tag would put Spurs off, if we are willing to pay that kind of money for Arshavin. Then again, papers are probably saying that to cover their tracks by saying that we were preparing a bid for Huntelaar anyway when we never did/will..However, we should go all out to sign this guy. His goals-to-game ratio is unmatched and he seems like the perfect replacement for Berbatov. Him and Pav upfront sounds more appealing to me than Pav and Smoothbum.

This is super news indeed. But does it mean the end for Bent? More importantly, I hope that it means that vice-captain Jenas now drops to the bench, he's shit and is holding us back. What will the formation be if we do indeed get all four?

Given that Pavlyuchenko is cup-tied for the UEFA Cup, it makes more sense to push for Huntelaar than for Pavlyuchenko. As much as I hope, I cannot see Spurs buying all three strikers (although they may then play Arshavin on the left wing).

we also need decent cover for King because Dawson is also bloody useless.

Given how desperately Everton are looking for players, we should try to flog Jenas to them for 10m and Dawson to them for 5m. Keagan may be another who may bite for these two.

For once I hope you are right. A fellow Spurs fan here in SA also let know that he knowns someone closely connected to the club and surprise, surprise, the very four names you mentioned: Pav, Ashavin, Huntelaar and Veloso came up together with Corluka. The Huntelaar deal was a bit iffy, but Ashavin,Veloso and Corluka a very strong possibility. So we should be all settled in for the Villa game. Spurs till I die or when Mugabe goes!!!

A word of caution re: Huntelaar -

For every Van Nistlerooy, there seems to be a Kezman AND a Kuyt (both strikers we were heavily linked with before their premier league arrival).

Of course some strikers just don't fit certain teams - look at Sutton great everywhere he played except Chelsea, yet he will always be thought of as a huge flop it would seem.

Of course we might get Huntelaar and he might be phenomenal (as I would expect) but I do see it being a repeat of our current Berbatov situation in two years time (should we not have reached our "promised" land)...

So enjoy him if and while he comes, and no crying when he decides he wants to ditch us for a wealthier sugardaddy!
