Wow, Barcelona poors it on again

Sunday, 09 November 08, 02:18 AM

Barcelona is on a roll once again. Blowing out Valladolid. Valladolid is a weak team though.
Real Madrid edged Promoted Malaga. I will have to keep an eye on Malaga.

We will see how Sunday's La Liga Matches fair out.

I most likely will not get to see the matches as I am working a Free Futsal Clinic hosted by Albuquerque Super F League.

What a relief-Things are looking up for Puntarenas FC

Sunday, 09 November 08, 02:08 AM

It appears there was an agreement between PFC and CCSS. Tomorrow Puntarenas FC will play a historic game against Ramonense in Jaco. First ever in Jaco.
If everything falls into plan it appears PFC could return to their home stadium.
What a relief. It would be great for the fans in Puntarenas to have the team they love return home. That was according to http://pfc.co.cr and http://puntarenasfc.net.
Not that Jaco does not deserve a team of their own but this is Puntarenas's team.
Hopefully they can put the nightmare behind them and build a championship team.
I love Puntarenas FC. Goool Sharks.

What a relief. Puntarenas FC draws dispites off the field challenges

Monday, 03 November 08, 02:57 AM

I have been holding off for a week to Blog this but it is time. I was relieved today, Puntarenas FC had a draw against Host Carmelita. Recently Puntarenas FC has been through some real off the field challenges. I am not going to go through the details of Puntarenas FC's recent challenges as I am grasping the situation down there myself. Basically, Puntarenas FC has been homeless for the past week. It appears PFC is going through some tough economic challenges. See article at Click Here for the article in Spanish .
Click article translated in English via google
I will let PFC official statement state the news. Due to an action taken by the Mayor, PFC has been left searching for a place to train and play their home games.
It appears a city Jaco, south of Puntarenas FC could possibly be the new home. I am just shocked that Mayor of Puntarenas would take strong actions a day before a huge game and when the season is ending in a couple of weeks. As I am not judging who is right or who is wrong, I think think any kind of action should have taken place at the end of the season. A community that loves Soccer and their beloved PFC, the community has lost their team. Now they will have to travel to Puntarenas FC's new home to see their beloved team. The fans are the ones who loses out the most.
Their official website (Spanish) is http://pfc.co.cr or another site http://puntarenasfcnet.blogspot.com/
I pray Puntarenas FC will come out of this very strong and build a strong Futbol team for years to come. I also pray for the community of Puntarenas as they now have to traval to see their Puntarenas FC which I am sure many will be unable to. It's not fair.

TSG 1899 Hoffenheim-saw them finally

Friday, 31 October 08, 01:36 AM

I finally got to see TSG 1899 Hoffenheim the past Sunday. Tape delay but I got to see them beat Hamburg. Hamburg is now dropped to number 3 and Hoffenheim is in 1st. I really like to see Hoffenheim do something this season. It would be a sweet story as a team got promoted two years in a row and make huge noise in the 1st Division in Bundesliga. Long season to go, anything can happen but so far it is a sweet story.

Ouch-River Plate Last Place in Argentina

I smell the burrito-CD Chivas wins againts America

Monday, 27 October 08, 12:55 AM

I can smell the breakfast burrito. CD Chivas Guadalajara beats CD America.
My friend and I had a beat if Chivas wins, he buys me a breakfast burrito and if America wins I buy him a Breakfast Burrito. A fun tradition we had for the past three years.

Barcelona smoked this week

Sunday, 26 October 08, 01:40 AM

Barcelona really put the goals on the first half agains Almeria. Lean, mean goal shooting machine in the early going. Almeria was promoted in the 2007-08 and had a decent showing.
In the UEFA Champions League, Barcelona smoked Basel.
Way to goool. I mean go.

La Liga so far

Monday, 20 October 08, 12:32 AM

Going through the Spanish La Liga so far.
Promoted CD Numancia after shocking Barcelona in season opener has only managed one draw since and is dead last. CD Numanica has been promoted to La Liga first division before but only managed to stay up for one season. Time will tell. I would like to see CD Numancia make it in the first division, it will be tough.
I knew Valencia would be much better but holy cow, first place. Valencia really tumbled last season, almost in danger of being regulated but survived. Now they must be feeling pretty good.
Sevilla FC: My team is in second. Sweet. I saw them win today. I believe it was the first opportunity I have been able to see them on TV. Gol TV. Busy with our Futsal League. Hopefully Sevilla can hold on. Go Sevilla FC! I would love to see Sevilla FC win the La Liga Title.
Many said Villareal would not repeat the same success this season as last and is currently sitting in 3rd. Long season to go, but they are starting to roll again.
Barcelona in 4th: Fans only expect the best. They want to be number one in the La Liga and UEFA Champions League. That is the right goal. Now the players need to be hungry as well for the top spot otherwise, the fans will get very restless. By the way, Barcelona wants a MLS Team in Miami. Stay tuned to see if that happens. It would be sweet.
Real Madrid in 5th: I thought this would happened last season with the new coach and some new younger players. They proved me wrong and won the La Liga Title last Season. Time will tell if they can poor it on and win it for the 3rd straight time. They fell behind early two seasons ago and caught right up and won the title.
Almeria in 6th: Some said they would not last in La Liga's 1st division. Some picked them to end up on the bottom and be regulated. They finish pretty decent last season and this season, they are smiling in the 6th spot.
Malaga: Nice start in the 1st Division in La Liga. Sitting in 7th.
Real Betis: Having a pretty bad season so far. Finally out of the cellar. Need to get cracking if they wish to stay in 1st Division.
Athletic Balbao: Not doing nearly as well as last season. They had a decent finish last season. 11th which is good for them. Currently they are sitting in 17th place. One spot away in the regulation zone.

Anyway. Season is young. Many changes can take place. I love La Liga!

spoke too soon. Hamburg back on top in Bundesliga

Sunday, 19 October 08, 11:10 PM

Well, Hoffenheim was in first for a day. With the games today Hamburg is back on top.
I would like to see Hoffenheim do something this season. It would be a great story. Read my yesterdays blog for more details. Hoffenheim was in Regionalliga Sud in 2006-07. Bundesliga 2nd Division 2007-08 and was promoted once again to Bundesliga 1st Division. Hoffenheim is putting some money into the club the past few years. Inquiring some good players to build their program up. Like a comment in my blog (oleole.com) said, go Hoffenheim.

Big Games in the World of Soccer

Sunday, 19 October 08, 09:51 PM

What a barn burner between Atletico Madrid vs. Real Madrid. Real Madrid scoring the last moment to win this Derby. I believe it was a penalty kick.
Monterrey vs. Tigres: Monterrey was winning 1-0 next thing I know, Tigres score 4 fast goals. Monterrey fans must be upset losing so badly so quickly after having a lead most of the game.
Indios vs. America: well what has happen to CD America. On the bottom losing to a team that was promoted up this season. I had to mentioned this game.
Boca Jr. vs. River Plate: Super Clasico. Boca Juniors wins. One of my favorite teams I noticed I do not blog much of anything about them. I will have to change that.

I believe next weekend it is CD Chivas Guadalajara vs. CD America. The Burrito challenge. A friend of mine is a huge America fan and I am really a CD Chivas USA fan but the big game is against CD Chivas Guadalajara. If America wins, I buy him a breakfast burrito and if CD Chivas Guadalajara wins, he buys me a breakfast burrito. We are both skinny, we can afford it.
