New Website Features

Tuesday, 24 April 07, 11:35 PM

Today we released a bunch of new features to the website, a few of which I would like to highlight:

1) Photo Gallery

Check it out here. Feel free to upload as many photos as you like (football related preferably) and link to these photos using the handy copy and paste code provided.

2) More formatting options for all you blog writers

You can now set the font face, font size and also "format" (e.g. heading1, heading2, etc) for your blog posts.

3) Randomise the display of friends on your profile page

Click "Arrange My Friends" on your profile page after you are logged in and choose the new "randomly arrange my friends" option.

4) Addition of scores and tables to the team news scout pages

Providing more easy access to news and info about your favorite teams on a single page. For instance: the news scout page for Manchester United looks like this now: http://www.oleole.com/tracker/view/team/19/d/1

Hint: bookmark your team scout pages after you set them up so you can return to them easily every day for the latest news and results.

We have lots more in store in the next few months so stay tuned for more! As always, feedback is most welcome!

Youtube video embedding now enabled!

Tuesday, 20 March 07, 06:31 PM

OK bloggers, I am pleased to say that we have now enabled the embedding of youtube videos into your blog posts.

As of today, you can now embed videos from the following services into your blog posts:

Here's an example of how to do it for a Youtube video:

1) Copy the "embed" code from the video you want. e.g. from Youtube:

<object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/p21ZC9pBZDs"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/p21ZC9pBZDs" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>

2) On your blog post on OleOle, when editing or creating the Blog Post, click the little "HTML" icon along the top of the Content window.

3) In the Window that pops up, paste in the embed code you copied above from Youtube wherever you want to place the video

4) Click Update

That's it! Once you Publish your blog post, the video will be embedded. The steps are very similar for Google Video and most of the other video hosting services.

And to demonstrate, do check out this very funny video (get your speakers on first for the best effect):

PS: I am the cto of OleOle, so feel free to drop me a message anytime or leave me some comments if there are features that you would like to see on OleOle. I'd love to hear from you!
