The Spanish national team return to colourful winner’s reception

Torres is acclaimed by hundreds of thousands of fans as Madrid is bathed in red and yellow as Spain celebrate European triumph

Following some words from captain Iker Casillas and the Spanish coach Luis Aragones, Fernando Torres took to the microphone: “I would like to thank all the fans. This triumph belongs to you, because without your support we would not be here now. Thank you.”

Fernando Torres’ Liverpool team-mate Pepe Reina then took centre stage as he presented each and every one of his team-mates to the delight of the players and crowd present.

Spain last won a major international trophy in 1964 with victory over the former USSR in the European Championships, though the 44 year wait was brought to an end by the current sqaud of 23 players led by Luis Aragones, and with a goal in the final from Fernando Torres.

                                                                              ---------a piece of news

How i wish i could be to MADRID with my heros~!But actually i can merely stay in a bar besides my university, seeing their binge, then try to cry out all my  heated emotion.I was so tired at that time, without a little sleep for 24hours.I am so unlucky to stay in such a remote place, the time difference almost drove me mad.I can just sleep in the day to insure the energy to watch the final at 2:45a.m.

And thanks to the God ,my spain at last won.Their fans have waited such a long time,44years.To be honest,I haven't.I am not like some girls who loved Spain for several years.I fell in love with them just 10 days ago.Because they played so well and who see their performance can totally enjoy it.

thanks to NINO too,you brought us such a pretty goal~!You told the world, you are the new prince of Spain~!I will support you continuely and wait for you in2010.
