OFC Auckland: The OFC "Indigenous" Talented Coaching Scheme got underway with the opening of the OFC Senior Coaching License course at the OFC Academy in Auckland this morning.

In officially opening the ten day course, OFC Honorary President and Oceania Ambassador, Charles Dempsey, told the course participants of the important role they played in Oceania and encouraged them to set high goals.

"The role you play in the development of the game is crucial," explained Mr Dempsey.

"You have a duty to impart the knowledge you will get from this course, on to others in your countries."

The course facilitator, Alan Gillett of England, got the ball rolling by introducing the course and outlining the content which will include both theoretical and practical (outdoor) sessions.

He said he was enthusiastic and keen to get started but warned the participants to expect some intensive days ahead. The course participants will attend an NSL match at Ericsson Stadium this coming weekend when the Football Kingz play Adelaide United.
