OFC - BEACH SOCCER KICKS OFF AT NARROW NECK

Sunday, 08 July 07, 12:04 AM

OFC Beach Soccer Championship - New Zealand 2007 kicked off today at Narrow Neck Beach on Auckland's North Shore.

The Narrow Neck venue is a former army barracks used for training of Pacific Islanders from Cook Islands, Niue, Tahiti and Fiji for World War I, a fitting analogy as Tahiti, New Zealand, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu gather to wage a beach soccer battle for a place at the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup - Rio de Janeiro 2007.

www.oceaniafootball.com in association with the North Shore City Council will bring daily updates as the tournament progresses toward its exciting finale when Oceania´s representative on the sands of the Copacabana will be found.
