SOLOMON ISLANDS - HONIARA, TEMOTU TO CONTEST FINAL

Tuesday, 25 October 05, 03:58 AM

Temotu Arrows and Honiara Warriors will play for the Solbrew Solomon Cup trophy today (Monday).

Arrows beat Real Kakamora 1-0, while in the other semi final Warriors edged out the Western Turtles 2-1.

Like Kakamora, the Turtles had themselves to blame for not making use of their chances. Aleck Wickham opened the scoresheet for Turtles before Honiara struck back and eventually took the match.

Kakamora and Temotu on the other hand had to go into extra time to find the winner. Commins Menapi's younger brother Philip Meoli, who is also the team captain, separated the two teams when he outpaced the Real Kakamora defence line before unleasing a powerful right boot into the net which secured them the finals place.
