HONIARA – Naha FC have lifted themselves from the foot of the table in the DJ League Premier Division following a comprehensive 6-1 victory over fellow table dwellers Laugu on Saturday.
It was Naha’s second league win and the result props them up one place above Zome Mars who foot the table with four points.
Sprinter turned striker Lawrence Foanaota opened the scoring for Naha and rewarded his side for dominating possession throughout the first half.
Former under 18 player Richard Fugui was the catalyst for most of Naha’s attacks setting up two goals in the second half. His through balls were measured to perfection and Naha’s strikers benefited from some quality service. It was a welcome sight for Naha fans to see Laugu back in the limelight after taking a long break from competitive football.
In other DJ league action Hana beat Walas 2-1 to move into sixth spot and now will be looking to improve on their position in order to fight for a spot in the National Club competition in May.
Uncles currently lead the table on 29 points though Makuru are one point behind with one game in hand.

The first match kicked off at 9 a.m and matches will continue throughout the day.
The participating schools must include four girls in their squad of 14 and two girls must be on the field at all times, in their team of nine.

I'm a fans and supporter of Makuru fc from solomon islands...and i like to congradulate uncle fc for their best performance. Uncle fc mostly consist of very young players ..and with good management ..they deserve to be one of the best team in solomon islands league.
For sure its really convincing to see Uncles FC were provide some good competition in the DJ league to top the competition so far compare with resources and facilities they have . May all blessing of soccer due to your effort. Good luck Uncles FC.
Good team, very young talents and obviously good club Management; I agree with vencensio. Good Management is always reflected in team performance. On field and out of the field is what really matters in Soccer.... "no karage lo taem tim plei en win nomoa"!! Its how we train the players and draw a blueprint for each player cos every player is different...dont treat everyone the same cos you will find everyone at the same phase and level, which simply mean no improvement for the team and the club as a whole!! Simple as that soccer administrators. Thumbs up for local medical Doctor, Kenton Sade! I love it!!!!
Thanks solosoka for seeing it the same way I saw it!! If we are to improve our soccer, we must improve team or club management. We have a lot of dissappointments in the past with cases like misuse of club money by administrators. This kills soccer development cos players dont have any confidence in development because money intended for club or team development are being misused by some selfish administrators, so they just take soccer for granted, just a game for leisure or just another social activity..
In bigger countries, clubs are being sponsored by companies, so everything from team uniforms to soccer boots are being sponsored. In oceania, this is different, the club has to sweat for these things and the common way of getting funds for the club is fundraisings..., supporters and players sweat out their guts only to learn at the end of the day that the selfish administrators eat up the cake again.....its time that these so-called sports administrators face the full force of the law for their evil deeds. No wonder many sports die a natural death?
Turu tumas na barata blo mi, kaen ia bara tumas lo solo na!! Its this similar problem that sparked hot debate in the local media some weeks before the OFC U/23 qualifiers in Fiji last month. SIFF should ensure those managing clubs must possess average sports administration skills before taking up such responsibilities. Or better still, all clubs must make sure they vote good people to manage their clubs, people like Dr. Sade who explicitly outlined his plans and development strategies for Uncles FC. He has proven beyond reasonable doubt what he said. Three of HIS club players already left for NZ to play, study and do work attachments. What a big incentive for potential players who meet their club requirements?
What happened to Brian Feni now? He is another Uncles' top player who has been outstanding in previous leagues but cannot continue due to injuries...
Brian Feni marit na ating, lol!! I dont know but I guess injury and his interest in art must've been the reasons for his active participation with Uncles! He's an all rounder, plays clean football and a wise decider who makes good and important decisions during play.. A potential export!!
While Feni may play clean football as claimed by pikinini, a few of his team mates are not. I am a keen follower of the local DJ League and most often whenever Uncles play at Lawson Tama, you can witness some very dirty display on and off the field. Some even use abusive words on the field. It does not speak well of a team that claims to have a better management in the league. Most soccer fans these days want to see clean and high standard soccer matches and players who enjoy their game whether they win or lose. Exort of players is a good thing but the players upon their return home should show good example to home-based players.
Thanks solsoc about your allegations against Uncles FC. You should take some time to read about solosoka and Sissoko's debate about "dirty soccer". I disagree with your assertions that abusive languages on and off the field. Management can have control over players but it cannot have control over spectators. Spectators on the day may not be all the team's supporters but they support for other reasons. These type of supporters are the real "pain in the arse", they can use abusive language but again the management has no control over them. The management for that matter would rather control his players and not the spectators because the management cant, not even the best manager in the world!!
Your understanding on Soccer is narrow, no wonder you are narrowminded! Soccer is played in both in and off the field. That is why FIFA sanctioned games are played in the "home and away" basis. This is to give the home team an advantage, particularly for home crowd support, this is where supporters play their roles. No one will rule out abusive languages and even violence by supporters. This is bad but is a reality. So dont expect soccer to be played by the rules all the time although we all want it to be played that way!! Unlces FC deserved to be praised and I was the one who started this debate on the issue of good club management and I can confidently say Uncles stood above all. If you are simply one supporter or player from another club competing in the DJ league then I symphatize with you solsoc, cos revenge is evil my fren!
Uncles FC deserved their lead and praise from everyone. They have produced good soccer players for both their club and SI. Look at Benjamin Totori, Kidston Billy, Judd Molea, Selson Molea and others. These players stood out to be SI's elite players and have won hearts of many soccer loving people in and around the region. What else do you expect solsoc? If your team is beaten by Uncles FC or angered by some unwanted actions which you referred to then, its a matter for HFA and two your club's managements to deal with.. I can recall Rodney So;oilau, the Hurricanes captain comments after their controversial draw with the Sharks last nite after a handful of contraversial decisions made by the ref against the Hurricanes; "We played hard and deserved a win but the ref has ruled so no one can change the result"!
Ke kikia ae, you na luk naes osem tumas ia or kaonim nomoa? lol!! By the way Uncles FC Management is doing the right thing for club development so solsoc should shut your mouth and draw development plans for your club or team. No where in the world will you stop "abusive languages" both by players and supporters!! Its part of the game and it will always be around as long as we have humans playing soccer!! Join the good thing solsoc, get into the drawing table and plan for your club or team. What position is your team sitting at in the current DJ league? Uncles FC is curently first with 29 points. They will wait for Makuru's final match against Sunbeam, Uncles's sister club.....Go sunbeam Go, beat the giants of DJ league!
