Release Notes - New Features on the Website!

Tuesday, 22 May 07, 04:22 PM

Greetings again to the faithful and our many new members in the community! Here are some highlights from today's latest website feature release:

1) Inserting Photos into blog posts

OK, the old system was somewhat “buggy” and error prone (as many of you bloggers will know) so we have entirely ripped it out and replaced it with a brand new system. Give it a try, go ahead, start blogging right now and let us know if you like the new system. [you might need to do a “CTRL-refresh” (hold down the Control key while clicking reload in your browser) in order to view the new system properly]

As you can see from the screenshot above, we have also added in a "Search" feature, which is handy for those bloggers who have lots of photos in the system. You do need to enter in a caption or tags for your photos when you upload them in order to make them searchable.

2) Custom HTML on your blog

You asked for it, and now here it is: You can now add custom HTML of your choosing to the right column of your blog. This is great for adding some extra pictures or maybe a little youtube video or two if you want.

You can also use this to trade reciprocal links with news aggregation sites like NEWSNOW.co.uk in order to get listed with these types of services.

This new feature can be accessed under the “Settings” section of your blog. If you are already logged in to the site, head over to the Blog Settings Page to try it out.

3) Resizable editor window when creating/editing blog posts

This has actually been up since our last release about two weeks ago but we missed telling everybody about it. For those of you who blog quite a lot, you will probably love this one! Look for the little triangle in the bottom corner of the blog editor window and try dragging it around to make the window bigger or smaller. Here’s a screenshot:

4) Multi-author blogs

Again, not really a new feature, but probably one of the less known ones so we thought we’d mention it today: You can add and remove authors from your blog under the Settings > Manage Permissions section in Manage Your Blogs.

As always, keep that feedback coming in! And if you haven't signed yourself up for an account yet, well, it’s never too late! Navigate over to the Sign Up page and get started in our growing community of football lovers from all over the world. See you again soon!
