David Gill: Come And Sign Ronaldo - AS + Robinho, Baptista, Nasri & Ben Aarfa

Written by Adam Bader on Saturday, 05 July 08, 11:40 AM

I've just woken up and checked out some Spanish newspapers hoping to find some good news about Robinho. Apparently, he is not happy with the way Real Madrid are treating him (trying to include him in Ronaldo's deal, his wages...etc), but I found something rather interesting: David Gill, Man Utd's director has told Ramon Calderon that he should come if he wants to sign Cristiano Ronaldo.

My interpretation is that Man UTD are, as we already are, sick of this goddamn saga. They just want to end it whether by selling the player or forcing him to stay.

Bernd Schuster has recently stated, that he expects to have Cristiano Ronaldo in the pre-season which will start very soon in Austria. He seems very confident, though.

AS says that Calderon will pay between €80-€90m as a final offer to the Red Devils. If I was Gill, I would say yes, c'mon and take this coward - it is a pretty damn good deal for me. And If I was Calderon, I would sign Villa or Benzema instead.

However, all of the Ronaldo-related rumors in the press are really conflicting. Some sources say that Man UTD are not interested in selling him, some say that he is leaving -- and  the Spanish press is incredibly funny - everyday they release a new labeled "exclusive" report claiming that Ronaldo has bought a house in Madrid, that he'll be Schuster's neighbor - that sort of crap. So expect this news to be absolutely false.

Hopefully, Robinho will be staying at the club, whether Ronaldo comes or not. He doesn't have a problem with Ronaldo coming, but his problem is with the club. He just wants to be respected and valued - and if his allegations (that he is being mistreated) are true I'd say he should leave, but lets hope that is not true and he won't go to another club.

Baptista is definitely leaving and Bronzete (the well-known transfers agent) says that he will arrive in Rome this week. I say they've got a pretty good deal and they've signed a great striker that would complement their attacking line. Once again, Good luck, Julio.

Lyon say that they were not contacted by Real Madrid for Ben Arafa who signed for Merselle last week. I don't care, because I think we don't need him, although he is a good player. Also another French player who was rumored to be targeted by Real Madrid is seemingly heading to Arsenal, and it is Samir Nasri, If you are wondering. We don't need that one either.

This Saturday was quite and so is Real Madrid transfers this summer. I don't expect any signings except for Ronaldo, if he is really coming or Villa If Calderon has some common sense.

Alright, now I've got to check out my e-mails, Facebook and do more surfing, meanwhile feel free to comment below ;)

 Hala Madrid!

Well, he is a coward because he doesn't have a take on things. Until now, he hasn't appeared on TV saying that he will join us. C'mon chicken, come out =D

I'm sick of this second Zidane thing. It is pretty much like the second Maradona, Pele...etc Now who is the second Zidane? Nasri or Benzema? Or the Egyptian Zidane? They are all called the second Zidane, but non of them is near to Zidane's prestige.

I feel that CRon will break all the harmony that was developed these last two years. But Madrid needs someone to replace all the merchandsing profits lost when Becks left, so there you go. It's a shame. Yes CRon can play, but IMO he is overrated and we will have to drastically change the team and build it around him. It will be interesting to see how the senior players IE Raul, Iker, and starlets IE Robinho, Ramos and even Ruud get along with him. No love lost there between Ruud and CRon at United. Well we shall see, indeed.

Hey guys, first of all I gotta salute this new look, I must say I really like it, I've been away for a while but I hope I'll soon join the discussions with my fellow madridistas.

As for the Ronaldo mater I've pledged not to comment about him till we actually sign him, but it's Robinho I'm concerned about, the player is really unsettled, and he has every right to be so cuz the truth is, he deserves a better contract, I mean get serious, Saviola is better paid than him, that's unfair if you ask me, the contribution for the team between both of them is incomparable, Calderon must work this out and stop focusing only on Ronaldo, we still have our own players that we must take care of, Robinho is so underrated.
I hope they sort this out quickly, it would be a damn shame if we lose him.

Interesting... Robinho starting to sound like the Ronaldo kid. This is not a club who worship 1 player as god and the rest as back up. I DONT like to see Robinho leave and i dont like to see Ronaldo here, but if Robinho starts thinking he's beyond everybody else...And Rajab, I'd prefure we sign Villa too. He costs less and a guarantee success. At least in my opinion.

The big things are happening but nobody talks! All of that are
still speculations for us!
But!If clever and succesful men like Mr Calderon and Mr
Ferguson are negotiating so much and so long about one man,
or more men,why somebody thinks he is more clever than they two? 8O
Be patient some more time!
