Ramos Set To Sign A Life-Time Contract, Man City Also Wanted Van Nistelrooy & Brazilian Legends Criticize Robinho

Ramos

I'm very happy that the Robinho saga has finally ended and I think it has ended happily with us offloading an unhappy lad for a lot of cash. And the club has now revealed that they will offer Sergio Ramos a life time contract just like the ones they offered to Casillas and captain Rau'l.

The new improved contract would keep the excellent right back until he becomes 32, pretty much when he will retire. He would earn 6m euros a year, a salary that Robinho wanted badly, but one that Calderon refused to give.

While I believe that Sergio deserves such a contract, I have my concerns too. Signing a player for such a long period of time is a "gamble". Will he continue playing as he is currently doing? Or will he still be faithful to the club? He may turn to be another Robinho, right?

However, I think there isn't much difference other than that he will be guarenteed a place at Real for a longer period and will earn a good salary along the road. So I would say that it would be good if this deal go through although as I said I have a few concerns.

Anyway, it seems that the Arabs of Man City have also approached Real about Nistelrooy and offered a lot of money but Calderon turned them down immediately.

Those folks are trying to dominate the world of football by signing players right and left, which is clearly wrong. What did the hell they have in mind? Did they think that by signing Robinho they could sign any player they wanted? Crap. Nistelrooy, yes, is old, but he is VERY essential for us. They would be dreaming if they thought that they would ever get him. And they only signed Robinho because we wanted them to ....

And by the way, Brazilian legends including Pele have harshly criticized Robinho's decision to leave Real Madrid and join Man City.

Pele has said that Robinho has seemingly lost his mind. Leaving for a smaller team is a step towards ruining his career.

Also Santos officials have commented on the issue and said that they are sorry for him that he was advised and controlled by the wrong people.

Crap.

Thats about it for today. I'm looking to seeing Cannavaro play with Italy. His return is crucial for both the Azzuri and Real Madrid.

NOT THE LIFE-TIME CONTRACT AGAIN !!
dont get me wrong it's just that this might make our best assist (Guti) pissed off , just like last season when raul and iker got the life-time contract guti wasnt the same guti we know ,

how do you think it would make him feel seeing a younger player getting the contract before him ?

i just think nothing good cn come from these contract other than frustrations between players

I'd agree with you if he wasn't such a crucial player of the Real Madrid campaign , Guti's was and will not be the half player that Ramos is .. anyways we'll see how things work out ! . And great post Rajab , again ;)

I don't think this life time contract is such a bad idea. We get to keep Sergio and show other players that their commitment can be rewarded. Granted some of the other senior members might feel left out like Guti. But he hasn't shown the attitude of a person that deserves a contract like this deserves. I hope that this is more motivation for Sergio so he can earn that Captains arm band.

I think that Real already offered Guti a lifetime contract or didn't they?
