Will they go? & if so who will come???

Saturday, 12 July 08, 01:25 PM

If you were the manager at Spurs and you decided to sell Robbie Keane and Berbatov! Who would you buy to replace them? Would you go for Hollands lethal striker, Klass Jan Huntelaar nicknamed the hunter, or maybe David Villa? Which forward would you chose?

Nice new post mate...liking the pics...well if they do leave(please don't) then i would defiently go for Huntelaar or Villa, but also Sergio Aguero, the boy is young and has talent...he's a class act and will be a great player...this one may a bit ambitious, but Imbrahimovich(spelling?) i like him alot, but i don't there no chance...

I've got to disagree with you for once mate i am not a fan of the Swede.

Aguero on the other hand would be coup and a half! Whatever happened to Saviola he used to be the a prospect?

hmmm...yeah? Don't rate him? As for Ibrahimovic, he is highly rated yes but for me he blows hot and cold. Maybe I am wrong? But there are so many striker to choose from, what about That Russian Roman Pavlyuchenko? Or would he be another flop from those parts, after Sheva and Rebrov?

Thanks Adam for your input... Back to the question at hand which other strikers would fit the bill for Spurs? If our two stars upfront were sold.

I have heard similar reports, although he is older than the Bulgarian at 29.
Any other strikers that would fit the bill, or do people Milto is the answer?

Erm...Well we have been linked to Garcia, but i don't reckon he could fill the boots on Keano or Dimi...What about Podolski...i would like him at Spurs

Definitely a good shout as Podolski is a versatile player, who can play on the left, and he also posses a ferocious shot!

The likes of Podolski or Villa would be perfect if we were to sell Keane, as they are similar strikers in that they all like to play off the main striker. But the question is will Spurs be able to attract this calibre of player, without CL football?

Wicked question Adam! I am spoiled for choice there, probably in this order Aguero, Hunterlaar, Villa, Podolski
The reason i would say Aguero first is he is meant to have superlative potential, where as Hunter goalscoring is phenomenal! We all know about Villa & Podoslki, and obviously i would be over the moon with any of these great front men.

Thanks for the invite, LLTK.

Have to admit, cant imagine Spurs with either Keane or Berby. Dont force me to think about other possibilites.

Maybe Villa as back-up? Hehehehe

Good to see new faces joining in :D Thanks BillyB, putting aside your fears of Berba or Keane leaving... who would like to see strut there stuff at the Lane regardless?

Have to be Villa.

Hate to admit it, but he was class at Euro 2008. Cant see him coming though.

Just to put one out there. What about Viduka? Solid premiership goal scorer. Could fill a space if one was left (god forbid).

More concerned about a DMC and CB to be honest....

Yes Viduka is superb target man, and on his day is very hard to play against, however he is nearly 34 years of age... so how long will he able to perform at the top level.

I think Spurs are looking for younger players, gone are the days of Sheringham & Poyet (Dads Army lol)

Which other strikers guys... Any other suggestion?

Ok ok.

I like the dream of this young squad that Ramos is creating. but where is the experience?

I would happily see a 30+ player come fill the DMC role or maybe even a striker role if a gap is created (again God forbid).

So...

Villa
Milito
Pavlyschenko (?spelt wrong?)
Judge Dredd

I hear you BB, as a DM side track for a moment, i would go for Valencia's David Albelda. As he experienced, and 30 years of age.
He would compliment the young squad currently at Spurs, in a specialist position that is vital piece in the jigsaw puzzle.

Back to the question of which Forward we should go for? All the strikers you mentioned are good enough, although Pavlyuchenko could end up like Sheva or Rebrov for me?

Adam i agree Milito would be the first Argentine at the Lane, believe it or not since the days of Ardiles and Villa!

Judge Dreed? Ignored?

Tut tut.

Yeah Milito looks awesome. I hate to keep sidetracking your blog LLTK but DMC is the only thing missing at the moment....

Albeda would be my choice too. Surprisingly I would take Tiago as second though. Did ok in EPL, but was dwarfed by the big names of Chelski. Note that Makelele was hardly noticed for a long time even though he was doing great work. Similar to Carrick. Could be similar to Tiago...

BB you could well be right about Tiago? But TBH i haven't seen enough of him to pass judgment.

Whereas Albelda, i have seen him plenty and he would be the first Spaniard at Spurs since Juande took over!
