Apparently that's the message I'm getting from Arsenal Football Club in their email to me (please don't stand it's dangerous, it will lose our safety certificate etc) and their announcement of their Anti-Social Behaviour Text Service. I don't have a problem with the need to remove people who exhibit blatant racist or homophobic behaviour but this will give license to the moral upstarts to complain about the bloke who swears at the ref constantly or doesn't particularly like Cashley Cole! People's perception of acceptable behaviour is different and, I would suggest, a football match is a very different environment from a church service. I don't expect to have to have the whole atmosphere (and there's not that much at Ashburton Grove anyway) sanitised constantly. We could learn so much more from the Bundesliga clubs who still stand and still serve alcohol on the terraces!
Yesterday seemed a very slow football day and I managed to watch the Grand Prix, the Tour de France (where Cadel Evans lost the yellow jersey) and Padraig Harrington winning the Open. However, the quiet of the day meant that so-called quality newspapers in England make up bollocks about Arsenal to sell their crappy papers... Please leave this to the tabloids.
L'Equipe says that Podolski, subject to many rumours, is staying at Bayern Munich this season.
Basel mate I agree with you, Ashburton grove is a much better name, but even i fall into the trap of saying "playing at the Emirates" sometimes! Plus the Emirates connection with Chelsea isn't pleasant either is it? I mean, has anyone drank Holsten recently? I've never been able to, just reminds me of the front of an old Spurs shirt. Oh, and I changed from Vodafone to Orange as soon as they started sponsoring Man Utd. I understand we make a packet from having Emirates sponsor the stadium, but it would be nice not to. Maybe when the contract runs out, and we've won Europe a couple of times we could rename it the "Arsene Wenger" stadium? Or any other suggestions?
Well fair enough and I agree in principle. But it can get very tedious avoiding rivals' sponsors. My TV is Samsung, stereo JVC though, I'm with T-Mobile not Vodafone (though not a Bayern supporter) and no I never drink Holsten. Though annoyingly-enough, Thomson sponsor my German team - Hannover 96. If I started to get worried about that lot I'd go mad(der).

Ashburton Grove who calls it that? How often you been to the Emirates mate? Plenty of atmosphere were we sit!
I call it that because i refuse to call after some bloody Airline that sponsors the stadium. It's actually what a lot of fans call it. By fans I mean those like me who have been going since way before the bloody Premier League hype had even been thought of - ever been to a crowd watching Arsenal at home of less than 20,000?. How often have I been?? I've kept my season ticket since moving to Switzerland - got back last year for 11 games and yes there are games when the stadium has atmosphere but there are also many when it's quiet (like many other clubs in the PL - it's not a unique Arsenal experience, even the Kop ain't what it used to be)due to the sell out of football to the corporate and marketing men who want nice families to come along.
