About Arsenal Football Club

Originally founded in 1886 as Dial Square, Arsenal FC are an association football club based in London, England who play in the English Premier League. They are London's most historic and successful team, and one of the most successful in all of the United Kingdom. Since the start of the 2006/07 season, Arsenal play at the majestic Emirates Stadium, which seats 60,000 people; they played at the monumental Highbury Stadium for 93 years prior to that. They are regarded as being one of Europe's biggest clubs, and are members of the G14 group of Elite European clubs. Arsenal are currently managed by the legendary Frenchman Arsene Wenger, who has overseen a period of extended growth and success in his 11 years in charge.

The Gunners: Never Relegated

Arsenal FC, also known as "The Gunners", have the honour of being the only club in the English top-flight to never to have been relegated. Since their promotion in the 1919 - 1920 season back to the old First Division, Arsenal have never played outside of the First Division/Premiership (EPL). No other team can make such a claim, and that brings the Gunners unbroken streak of being in the top flight to 88 years. Their record during this time is excellent – they have only ever finished below 14th place seven times, and also have the highest average league finishing position for the period 1900 - 1999, with an average finish of 8.5.

Flamini may not be playing CL football next season. Napoli 3 - 1 AC Milan. Fiorentina is now in the 4th CL spot in Serie A with AC Milan 2 points behind with one game left. Bad move Mathieu.
