UEFA Champions League

The UEFA Champions League is a club football competition that runs simultaneously with domestic league competitions in UEFA member countries. It is considered to be the most competitive club competition in world football, featuring Europe's most prominent and popular teams and players. The Champions League is run by UEFA, the European Football Confederation. The competition format consists of several stages including the three qualifying knockout rounds, a group stage, and a final knockout round. The UEFA Champions League culminates at the final match in May 2008 at Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow, Russia. UEFA Champions League finals match tickets and hotels in this beautiful city are in high demand as football fans from around the world aspire to see who is crowned the best club in Europe.

Champions League Finals

The 2008 Champions League finals match two English Premiership teams - Manchester United and Chelsea. An all-English final is a first for the Champions League. These teams are also competing for the Premier League title, which will be decided before the UCL final in Moscow.

Champions League Legends - Real Madrid

Despite the fact that they haven’t won the UEFA Champions League since 2002, Real Madrid are competition stalwarts. Madrid has won the cup a record 9 times, including three times between 1997 and 2002, and an amazing 5 consecutive times from 1955-60. Their other win was in 1966, and they have lost three finals 0 in 1962, 1964 and 1981. Interestingly, of the top 5 record goal scorers in the Champions League, the top two are currently playing for Real Madrid (Raul and Ruud van Nistelrooy). The 4th place goal scorer was Alfredo di Stefano, a Los Merengues legend, who was instrumental in their 5 consecutive European Cup wins.
