Tahiti 1 - 0 Cook Islands

Tahiti have posted a narrow 1-0 victory over Cook Islands in the opening match on day six at the OFC U-17 Championship. The other Group B game today sees Solomon Islands take on Tonga at 4pm.

The match kicks off

2' Ahonui Tahi has the ball in the net for Tahiti when he cuts in from the left and shoots past Cook Islands goalkeeper Rangi Piri but the goal is ruled out for offside

5' Tahiti are enjoying most of the possession in these early stages but Cook Islands are holding their own

8' Heremana Teikiteepupuni has a chance for Tahiti when he runs onto a ball on the left of the box and rolls off his marker but his shot goes into the side netting

11' Most of the play is being conducted in the Cook Islands half but the underdogs are managing to keep out Tahiti without too much trouble
