The Young All Whites have qualified for FIFA U-17 World Cup with a 2-0 win over Tahiti in the final of the OFC U-17 Championship. In the earlier match played today, Solomon Islands earned the bronze medal with a 2-0 win over Vanuatu.

The match kicks off

1' New Zealand have the early ball but the possession is soon turned over to Tahiti

2' Tahiti look to put some pressure on with a throw in on the left hand corner of the field

3' Tahiti have the first chance of the game when captain Rainui Aroita curls a free kick in from the left hand side of the area which goalkeeper Scott Basalaj fumbles but is able to gather at the seond attempt

4' New Zealand reply with a free kick opportunity of their own as Rhys Jordan hits the ball to Bill Tuiloma and his stabbed effort from the edge of the box goes just wide

6' Tauhiti Keck knocks over a dangerous corner for Tahiti but New Zealand clear the ball and now have a free kick in a good position on the right hand side of Tahiti's half

7' GOAL!!! New Zealand 1, Tahiti 0: The Young All Whites take full advantage as Cameron Howieson lobs the free kick over goalkeeper Heremataarii Hatitio from around 30 yards

14' New Zealand almost go further ahead when captain Luke Adams heads a Rhys Jordan cross at goal but Hatitio makes a good save

16' The Young All Whites are enjoying most of the possession now and looking to control the game

18' New Zealand look to start an attack down the right but Howlett hits a long pass too far and the ball goes out for a goal kick

20' New Zealand very nearly make it two when Hatitio spills a powerful Bill Tuiloma free kick and Yamamoto gets to the loose ball but can't force it home

23' Tahiti are having to do lots of defending and are not seeing as much of the ball as they would like

25' Jordan Vale hits a great strike at goal for New Zealand but Hatitio pulls off a spectacular save diving to his left

28' Tahiti have stepped up a gear in the last few minutes and enjoyed a spell of pressure. But they are unable to get a shot on target despite some sharp passing

29' New Zealand now look to create something off their own through Ryan Howlett, who is brought down for a free kick 25 yards out
