OFC on Twitter

The official OFC Twitter account was launched in August 2011 and has experienced steady growth since launch. It's a way for you to talk directly to the Confederation and also to keep up to date with all the latest news straight from our Confederation. OFC now have several official Twitter accounts with over 3,400 fans receiving regular news updates and insider insights from our Confederation.

What is Twitter? Twitter is a free microblogging website that allows its users to communicate their thoughts and opinions in 140 characters or less. If you've not signed up for Twitter yet, then it's pretty easy to do, you just need to go to the website and sign up with your username of choice. Who can I follow?
Whoever you want really - We have one main account (@OFCFootball) and several others accounts with specific Social Responsibility and commercial themes so you can tailor your Twitter experience to suit what it is that you're interested in. @OFCfootball is our official Confederation twitter account with @PYASC and @ofcjustplay focussed on our Social Responsibility and grassroots programmes. What kind of things do you tweet?
A wide range of content! OFC uses Twitter to bring you the latest news from OFC activities, quizzes, and news, live match commentary, social responsibility messages, updates on technical development in beach soccer, futsal, women’s football and our competitions, behind the scenes pictures and even a bit of banter wherever we can. If there's something that you'd like to be kept more up to date about or even something that just really annoys you then get in touch with us.

Will you reply to me?
You can tweet directly to the OFC account and you will receive an answer from us whenever possible. We use the latest social media monitoring tools to listen out for conversations that our fans are having about the OFC and try to pitch in with an answer or at least a way for you to find out more on whatever they're talking about wherever possible. We’ll We hope that you get to know us a little better as we want to talk about Oceania football just as much as you do!

Will you follow me?
No - the main OFC account will only follow our federations, other official accounts of football international bodies, players and news accounts. We know that there are a load of fake accounts out there so we hope that this will help you to know which accounts are real. If you find an account and you're unsure whether it's real then feel free to give us a shout and we'll keep you right.

Can you retweet me?
In general, yes, we will retweet you if your tweet is important or directly relevant to a discussion that we're having. We won't be doing 'requests' as we think that you'd get pretty annoyed at us taking up all of your timeline!
