2010 FIFA WORLD CUP SOUTH AFRICA™ - NEW CALEDONIA vs VANUATU

Friday, 20 June 08, 02:26 PM

NOUMEA - Live television coverage of the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™ Qualifier Oceanian Zone will be broadcast in New Caledonia courtesy of state television station RFO and available throughout the French Overseas Territory.

Radio Vanuatu will provide live coverage for Vanuatu listeners courtesy of football commentator Simo Jackson. For full details of how to tune into this broadcast frequency please visit:

http://www.fm107vanuatu.com/

Updates on the progress of the match can be followed at www.fifa.com

The two teams have met each other on three previous occasions with one win, one draw and one loss recorded for each side.

New Caledonia defeated Vanuatu 5-3 in a friendly international in Noumea in July last year but Vanuatu followed that up with a 2-0 victory just two days later in another friendly.

Last weekend New Caledonia opened the scoring through Ramon Djamalji after 75 minutes but Etienne Mermer squared away an equaliser for Vanuatu on 77 minutes to level the match at 1-1.

New Zealand leads the way in the group with three wins from three matches.

New Caledonia has a win and two draws and must win on Saturday to stay in contention for top spot in the group.

Vanuatu must win to cling onto its fading hopes of qualification but that scenario looks unlikely with the team so far unable to win any of its three matches.

Create something special out of the ordinary. Bookies are already at odds with you but but what if you beat NC and any other opponents in the eliminations - analyse it from
    that perspective?
All those games matter - remember!!!!
    Good luck.
    Cheers from Honiara.

Vaimoso thanks for the challenge. Squid is still swimming to Vanuatu but it looks like it will be turning back because of the strong current. However, I wish Vanuatu all the best so that this
chat house gets lively some more.Go Vanuatu go. Defy the French football influence.

Squid, what a description to effort put on to the Wantok Cup as "losers". Be positive and applaude the time and effort put together by responsible FAs' to materialised the idea of Wantok
    cup.

If you are not good enough to play in dry playing field, better stay and play water polo.

Sorry mataaku. How can I say it? Those who are not taking part in the WC Qualifying lost at the Pacific Games. Those not going to qualify is because they lost their games. Keyword - LOSE. But I
take your point i.e. be positive. So may the best Wantok team wins. Currently Our Telekom (Solomons) is on strike and are in difficult times so who knows if they are going to sponsor this event
well or not. Oh plis sapos water polo squid bae colourem field ia full black.

Squid, that is not the only game played by Vanuatu and Solomon Islands. Trace back your football history and measure yourself against Solomon Islands record, against Vanuatu. I guess you would say
the same to any NC fun in the futurre, following their last world cup qualifying game.
