LABASA WIN MAINTAINS PERFECT RECORD

Monday, 23 June 08, 02:03 PM

New Vodafone Labasa signing Joseph Nimariau played an important role in getting his side maximum points in two matches in the New World National Football Super Six competition.

The former Suva marksmen was in top form as he netted on his debut against Viva Rewa on Friday night which saw the Babasiga Lions win 3-2 at Ratu Cakobau Park.

On Sunday the Ni-Vanuatu striker who made his move to the North only last week proved to be the nemesis for Suva as he netted the lone goal in the 1-0 win.

In the match against Rewa, Nimariau along with Apisalome Turuva and Henry Dyer scored for Labasa.

Rewa’s goals were scored through Fiji karate rep Marika Rodu and former Suva man Alvin Prakash.

The two wins sees Labasa sit on top of the table with six points.

Vodafone Ba which didn’t field any of its new signings came away with a 2-0 win over Lautoka at Churchill Park.

Veteran striker Josaia Bukalidi and Avinesh Swamy got the goals.

Nadi was on bye while the Bottom Four will start this weekend.

Scorers:

2-Joseph Nimariau (Labasa); 1-Henry Dyer (Labasa), Apisalome Turuva (Labasa); Alvin Prakash (Rewa), Marika Rodu (Rewa), Josaia Bukalidi (Ba), Avinesh Swamy (Ba).

Yeah, OFC should send this news item to VFF.
Why VFF does not include him in the National side. He's had more experience than some others do. See whats going on? Wrong people in the scene here
    for Van Football.

I was wondering why Vanuatu FF did not include such a wonderfully gifted stricker to the Van National Team in its recent WC qualification game againts NC.
I'm sure he could have added another
dimension to Van's attacking force. If he can create something special for his current club, then I'm sure he can also translate those when on National duty.
    Just an assumption only but
obviously it could be difficult to just over look such a talent.
May be VFF have their own reasons but mifala lo Honiara just wonder nomoa ia!!
    Cheers anyway despite the unfavourable
    result.

Good luck to Joselph in the Fiji Super Six and hope VFF's game plan will leave a room for him in future games save the Wantok Cup.
