Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) holds an annual Congress to make decisions relating to OFC statutes and the method by which they are implemented and applied. OFC held an Extraordinary Congress
in Tahiti 2006 attended by FIFA General Secretary Dr. Urs Linsi, FIFA Vice-President Jack Warner and OFC Honorary President and ‘Father of Oceania’ Charles J. Dempsey, MBE, to help mark the 40th
Anniversary of the OFC.

OFC’s most recent Ordinary Congress was held in January, 2007, and was attended by FIFA President Joseph S. Blatter and saw OFC President Reynald Temarii re-elected for another four year term
unopposed. PNGFA President David Chung was made OFC Senior Vice-President and a new-look OFC Executive Committee was named including Fred de Jong (NZL), Lambert Maltock (VAN) and Claude Fournier
(NCL).
As part of the prestigious occasion FIFA President Joseph S. Blatter and OFC President Reynald Temarii opened a mini-pitch at the Kila Kila Secondary School on the outskirts of Port Moresby to help
promote football as a development tool in Oceania’s biggest member association.
