Free or Fee?, that is the question.

Our very first transfer saga. YAY! Hartlepool's 1 year extension now means Joel Porter is under contract for 1 more year. He can no longer leave under a free transfer unless the club release him. The problem is apparently the guy has sold his house and made it clear... Just a small update, apparently Plan "A" still has some legs. Porter hasn't made any comments about the 1 year extension, and Tony Pignata of the Phoenix has stated "The Fat Lady has not sung yet on the Joel Porter transfer" . Tony P is eloquent as ever. ... Well it actually didn't take that long to solve the Porter problem. Hartlepool released its retained player list, Porter's name was on it and the club used an option in his contract to extend it. I think everyone is a little disappointed that this is the way it ended, but at... Well the Joel Porter saga has taken another twist with the Hartlepool Mail saying that the player wants to stay at the club, but only if he gets a three year contract. With his injury record I don't think it is likely that they will meet these terms but we can only wait and... Welcome to my new football blog. It'll be a daily round-up of everything going on in Australian football, with occasional stops in Asia and Europe. Let's start with the Asian Champions League (ACL). The second matchday is tonight and both Aussie teams should be very confident after... Victory's title defence officially over
01:24 AM, Sunday, 13 January 2008
Melbourne Victory's defence of the A-League title is officially over despite an emphatic 3-0 win over Wellington Phoenix on Friday night. Newcastle's 2-1 win over Central Coast this evening (Saturday) has locked out Melbourne with one round of the home and away season remaining. While... It was meant to be a weekend off for the A-League through the festive season but instead fans were treated to the best game in the League's near-three year history. Sydney looked to be heading for a hammering at the hands of Central Coast in Gosford when a red-card to Olyroos goalkeeper... Doomed - the title defence is over
11:13 PM, Sunday, 02 December 2007
Melbourne Victory will not lift the A-League title this season. The Victory suffered a disastrous 3-1 loss to Perth Glory tonight and without some first-half heroics from Michael Theoklitos it could easily have been more. To the untrained eye the team is six points adrift of a finals... Posted by AusTeo · Comments (0) Topics: Australia,A-League,Melbourne Victory,AFC,Ernie Merrick,Melbourne Victory,Perth Glory

(Welli... Despite Queensland Roar leaving the door open right up to a chance in the 94th minute Melbourne failed to take its chances and fell to a 1-0 loss at Sunscorp stadium tonight. If results go against Melbourne in the other three A-League matches this weekend then the Victory will be a full...
