A gamble too far....

05:13 AM, Wednesday, 03 September 2008

Well the transfer window closed last night at midnight, there were many shocks going on throughout the day, this was also fuelled by the sensationalism provided by SkySports News but hey it added to the fun...So I went to bed shortly before midnight feeling like a young boy at xmas, any Arsenal... Back in the Groove at the Grove, Champions League, Transfer deadline

11:56 PM, Sunday, 31 August 2008

So this week saw the visit of two ex-England managers to The New Home of Football, and we all know there was only going to be one winner, Wenger. McCalren's FC Twente lacked an ounce of ambition, whilst Keegan's Toon side were dismantled by an Arsenal team in full flow. The 4-0 win against Twente... The more AW talks the more frustrating he becomes

06:51 PM, Wednesday, 27 August 2008

Perhaps some football tonight can take our minds off all the stuff like ...erm... football. Er... it's the return leg against Shteve McClaren'sh FC Twente and the good news is that Cesc Fabregas is fit. The boss says he doesn't know if he's going to play him from the start or not but I think he... Worrying signs...

04:35 AM, Wednesday, 27 August 2008

Well I was fortunately at a festival this weekend so missed the so called 'abysmal' performance we displayed on Saturday at Craven Cottage. From what I have read we lacked creativity, lacked drive, and our normally consistent players put in a poor show.I am not going to try and analyse the game... Arsene has big decisions to make

06:59 PM, Monday, 25 August 2008

The fallout from the Fulham game has not been pretty. Condemnation of the performance and the wafer thin squad has been widespread, and rightly so. I've already said plenty about what we need to do about it so it is somewhat depressing to hear the manager say we're not close to signing anyone.... I told you so...

06:28 AM, Friday, 22 August 2008

Well I hate to say it... but I told you so. Silvestre has joined Arsenal, Wenger still wants one more signing, and it has opened the door for a loan spell...So starting with the latter its some very good news, Armand Traore has joined Portsmouth on loan for the season. Harry and Tony will look... Mikael Silvestre - a good signing should it happen

07:27 AM, Thursday, 21 August 2008

So reports in this mornings papers suggest that we could be on the verge on hijacking Silvestre's proposed move across Manchester to Eastlands, and reports from Myles Palmer (bit of a twat) even go as far as to confirm tat he was seen both at Highbury House this morning, and at the training... The Buzz of the start swiftly followed by the Yawn of a Midweek International

02:11 AM, Wednesday, 20 August 2008

I can just about cope with competitive internationals even if my club side is far more important and relevant to me. However, I cannot understand or even get of bed for these early season friendlies. Why do they always take place so soon after the first game of the season (or before... Posted by BaselGooner · Comments (0) Topics: William Gallas,Samir Nasri

Ooh he's signed a contract - he must be staying (until the summer anyway)...

07:16 AM, Tuesday, 19 August 2008

As you probably know by now it seems that Arsenal have confirmed that Adebayor has signed a new contract. Now I'm pretty sure he did that last year and then spent most of the summer saying he wanted to leave (or words to that effect) so that leaves two questions. Was it all a ruse to... 1 nil to the Arsenal...

06:45 AM, Monday, 18 August 2008

Well like some other Gooners I'm sure I was feeling a little nervous coming into this game missing 9 players from our squad. There was to be no underestimating the importance of a good start to the season. If we want to forge a title challenging season then we really need to hit the ground...
