This is a rare opportunity to make a significant contribution to the development of football and the sporting communities of the Oceania region.
The OFC is embarking in a new development phase with its OFC Football Development strategy built on three pillars – Good Governance, Football Strategy and Capacity Building. The pillars are the foundation of the strategic goals which are to leave a legacy, have competitive teams at FIFA competitions and also at OFC competitions, while the ultimate goal is to ensure OFC is well represented at the FIFA World Cup 2026 – which translates to two teams qualifying for the global showpiece.
As Competitions Manager for the OFC, you will be assigned the responsibility to plan, organise and deliver international football competitions. You will also help improve the standard of football administration throughout Oceania by helping to develop education and training courses.
To be successful in this role, you must have a background in organising complex sports events; football is an advantage although not a prerequisite. You will be part of a small competitions department which interacts closely with all OFC departments on a daily basis.
You will be a reliable team player, making a significant contribution to the successful operation of the department. You must be a self-starter, highly motivated, project minded and be attention to detail oriented. You need to be very good at building and maintaining credible relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
You will have an adaptable communication style, from official documents to personal interaction with people of diverse cultures and languages. You must be willing and able to travel overseas regularly, sometimes for up to a few weeks at a time.
