OFC Men’s Champions League 2026
The 24th edition of the OFC Men’s Champions League was held in Fiji in 2026, across two venues at Churchill Park in Lautoka, and 4R Govind Park in Ba. With the introduction of the OFC Pro League earlier in the same year, it was the first edition of the tournament since 1987 where the winners didn’t qualify for a FIFA competition.
Featuring three clubs with OFC Pro League players in their squads, Group A was the tougher of the two sections at OFC Men’s Champions League 2026, and featured four-time defending champions Auckland City from New Zealand, Central Coast FC from Solomon Islands, AS Vénus from Tahiti, and AS Tiga Sport from New Caledonia.
Auckland City FC finished on top of the group with nine points and three wins from three, but all were incredibly hard-fought. They scored late winners in all three group stage matches and came from behind to defeat both Central Coast FC and AS Vénus.
Second spot came down to a winner-takes-all showdown between Central Coast and AS Tiga Sport in the final group stage match of the tournament. The Solomon Islands representatives scored once in either half for a comfortable 2-0 win.
Filled with Pro League talent and Fijian internationals, host club Rewa FC underwhelmed despite fielding by far the most experienced squad in Group B, where they were joined by Galaxy FC from Vanuatu, Lae City FC from Papua New Guinea, and qualifying winners Tupapa Maraerenga FC from the Cook Islands.
Rather it was Galaxy FC who hit the heights, producing a statement 4-1 win over Rewa on the opening match of the tournament, and cruising to top spot in the group with three wins, helped by the deadly finishing of Willian Dos Santos Medina, who became the first player to score three consecutive hat-tricks in OFC Men’s Champions League history.
Rewa rebounded from their opening defeat to set up a decisive clash with Lae City FC in the final Group B match and clawed their way into the semi-finals with a 2-1 win, albeit after being saved by the woodwork late on.
The first semi-final saw Auckland City produce their best performance of the tournament to book their ticket to the final, sealing the game early with two first half goals in a 3-1 win over Rewa. Michal Doudera, Gerard Garriga, and Matty Ellis found the back of the net for the Navy Blues, with Josaia Sela scoring a late consolation.
The second semi-final was far more dramatic. Two first half goals from Rafa Lea’i had Central Coast cruising with a 2-0 lead, before Willian Dos Santos responded with two of his own for Galaxy FC to send the match to extra-time. Lea’i completed his hat-trick and finally sealed a 3-2 win for Central Coast in the 117th minute, becoming the first club from the Solomon Islands to reach the final in 17 years.
Twelve days after meeting in the group stage though, Auckland City FC enjoyed a more comfortable win over Central Coast in the final. Two second half goals from Ryan De Vries and Matty Ellis sealed the deal for Rudy Mozr’s team, claiming a record extending 14th OFC Men’s Champions League crown.
With an incredible tally of 11 goals from just four games, Galaxy FC striker Willian Dos Santos Medina collected both the Golden Boot and the Golden Ball award. Auckland City FC goalkeeper Matt Foord won the Golden Glove, whilst Tupapa Maraerenga FC won the Fair Play Award.
