OFC have identified that a key element to the development of goalkeeping in our region is appropriate education for our goalkeeping coaches.
OFC have invested in a goalkeeper coach education pathway designed specifically for the needs of our people with respect to our environment. Following the OFC Goalkeeping Instructors Course in 2019 Member Associations are in a position to conduct their own Goalkeeping Introduction and Certificate courses.
OFC staff will lead and deliver the Oceania Football Confederation Goalkeeping C-Licence and B-Licence courses to provide further opportunities for our goalkeeper coaches to develop their qualities.
OFC’s primary programmes for goalkeeping development are goalkeeping schools and national team projects. Both are designed for the support of our goalkeepers and goalkeeper coaches.
At OFC we are committed to working with our member associations to develop and implement goalkeeping schools. Our goalkeeping schools will align with existing programmes such as development centres and centres of excellence.
We aim to ensure our goalkeepers have appropriate goalkeeping activities suited to their needs on a regular basis. Additionally, with our Member Associations OFC will identify and support appropriate national team projects.
Improved qualities of our goalkeepers and goalkeeper coaches will assist in ensuring competitive performances of our MAs at OFC and FIFA tournaments.
