The U-18 selection is part of the FIFA Goal Programme which involves 36 players who have been living and training at the Vanuatu Football Federation academy in Teouma for the past year.
Vanuatu is one of only six countries in the world selected by FIFA for this pilot programme.
The team started off their New Caledonian tour last Saturday against senior club side AS Mont-Dore going down 1-3, with the hosts scoring two of their goals in the final stages of the game.
Vanuatu bounced back to record a 4-1 victory over the New Caledonian U-20 side later in the week. Moses Kalotang, Brian Sumaki, Brian Kaltak and Jean Kaltak all got on the score sheet during their first win of the tour.
Last night the academy squad lost narrowly to O-League club AS Magenta 4-5. They have one final match left on Thursday 14 January against the New Caledonia U-20 side.
