After winning the opening match 3-1, many fans returned expecting a second victory for the home side, but the FIFA U-20 World Cup on the horizon for the Argentines the stakes were much higher.
The hosts played well, were effective in defence and pushed for goals up front with the physical nature of their game again present which helped keep a nervous Argentina at bay.
Like in the first encounter, it was Angel Correa who opened the scoring to put the visitors in front just 12 minutes into the match, however Tahiti responded equally as swiftly as Hiroana Poroiae equalised four minutes later.
Unfortunately for Tahiti Giovanni Simeone helped his side back into the lead with ten minutes remaining until the break, before Facundo Monteseirin took the score to 3-1 in first half extra time.
The fourth and final goal came in the 89th minute of the match when Emiliano Buendia found the back of the net.
