The final match of the season against Vaitogi United was a closely fought battle between the top side and cellar-dwellers United as they tried, unsuccessfully, to avoid the wooden spoon.
With the score locked at 2-2 it took an impressive 45-yard strike from Fred Maiava at the second half kick-off to give PanSa the edge they required.
After taking the lead the side rallied in defence preventing Vaitogi United from getting the equaliser they so desperately sought.
PanSa’s return to American Samoa’s top flight evoked memories of a bygone golden age when they competed at the OFC Club Championships in Papua New Guinea in 2001.
In a further blow to Vaitogi United they lost their grip on the FFAS National Cup after wrangling it away from Vaiala Tongan in their first win of the season.
Second-placed Vaiala Tongan remain in the running for promotion as they earn a spot in the promotion/relegation match against the seventh and eighth placed sides from Division 1.
These two sides, and the date for the promotion/relegation match, are yet to be determined.
Final Standings Division 2:
PanSa 13
Vaiala Tongan 8
Atu’u Broncos 7
Ilaoa & To’omata 7
Green Bay 4
Vaitogi United 4
