Gregorius helped Liverpool Ladies end Arsenal’s run in England’s Women’s Super League after beating Bristol Academy 2-0 in the title decider – the side’s first major silverware.
In July 2013 Gregorius signed for the FA WSL side from German Frauen-Bundasliga club SC 07 Bad Neuenahr.
The Kiwi came on as a substitute late in the second half and while she made an impression was unable to get on the scoreboard.
Liverpool midfielder Louise Fors says winning the championship is an amazing feeling and can be attributed to the entire team.
“The players have been fantastic and they deserve it. They have done this themselves by spending time together off the pitch and creating a great team spirit.”
Arsenal, who had won the championship in each of the previous nine seasons, were already out of contention by the time the Reds met Bristol Academy – their only remaining rivals.
While in celebration mode right now, Gregorius is already looking forward to next season’s UEFA Women’s Champions League and following in the footsteps of former Football Ferns teammate Rebecca Smith.
Smith was part of the VfB Wolfsburg side which toppled double defending champions Lyon to claim the 2012/13 title.
This caps a remarkable turnaround for Liverpool, who had finished bottom of the table in each of their last two seasons.
