The concept has been re-introduced this year after not being run for the past few seasons, with the aim of keeping clubs, players and fans active through the break between club seasons.
It will also see players who play for rivals club throughout the year come together to represent their province.
This year the Province of Origin will contested by the Penama, Shefa, Malampa and Torba provinces, with Vanuatu Football competitions manager Bong Shem expecting a big turnout from fans.
“The Province of Origin tournament was a big success a few years ago and we expect it to prove very popular once again,” Shem says.
“It is pleasing to be able to give our players and fans some meaningful football games in the time between the club season finishing and starting again.
“I must also take this time to thank the Port Vila Municipality City Lord Mayor Ulrich Sumtoh for his great support of the competition.”
The Province of Origin will run over three match days, with games set down for 21 November, 25 November and 28 November at Port Vila Stadium.
