The pair graduate from ASB Premiership duty and can now be considered for international fixtures, initially within the OFC region.
Kerr joins Jamie Cross, Anna-Marie Keighley and New Zealand’s most experienced match official Peter O’Leary on the international referees list while Lount’s name is included in a list of seven international assistant referees including Brent Best, Jan-Hendrik Hintz and Jacqui Stevenson who attended senior men’s or women’s World Cups in 2010 and 2011.
The retirement of Mike Hester, who along with O’Leary led trios of officials from Oceania to the 2010 FIFA World Cup, represents the only other change from the 2011 list.
Global tournaments in a busy 2012 include FIFA U-17 and U-20 Women’s World Cups, men’s and women’s Olympic Football Tournaments and the FIFA Club World Cup while opportunities within Oceania include Olympic and World Cup qualifiers, age-group qualification tournaments and the O-League.
