Farouk Janeman has been named as technical director while former development officer Hussain Sahib is taking up the role of deputy technical director.
Both men are former national team representatives and Fiji FA President Rajesh Patel is confident they have the knowledge and skills to steer the development of football in the right direction.
“Farouk Janeman is a very capable person and carries with him the experience from his time as a player and coach to take football to greater heights in Fiji,” Patel says.
“He is the best person at the moment to guide the technical department.”
The duo will begin work immediately and their first task is to prepare a development plan that will be presented at the Fiji FA board of control meeting this Saturday in Ba.
“I have had a meeting with the new technical director and stressed the key areas which we seriously need to look at,” Patel says.
Janeman will be based at the association’s national academy in Ba and has a busy time in store for him over the coming months.
The national women’s and U-23 men’s teams will both be participating in Oceania qualifiers for the London 2012 Olympics in March while the national men’s team will compete in June’s OFC Nations Cup.
All three tournaments are set to be held in Fiji.
