Gregorius signs with Liverpool Ladies

The 25-year-old who played for New Zealand at the FIFA Women’s World Cup Germany 2011 and was a member of last year’s London 2012 squad joins the England club from Germany’s Bad Neuenahr.
An exciting attacking player Gregorius brings international experience with her as well as an impressive goal-scoring record after having notched nine goals last season for her club and 17 international goals in 41 caps.
Liverpool Ladies manager Matt Beard says after a good start to the season he felt it was important to improve the squad and create competition for starting spots.
“We now have options in every position so the players have to be performing to the best of their ability to maintain their place,” he says. “I now feel we have a good blend of experience and youth and everyone can learn off of each other.”
The Reds, who won five of their first six matches to top the table ahead of Bristol Academy on goal difference, return to action following a two-month summer break with a home fixture against FA Cup winners Arsenal on 3 August.
