The course got underway at Teouma Academy in Port Vila yesterday 20 goalkeeper coaches present.
VFF goalkeeper instructor Wilson August say it is an honour to have Bannatyne leading the course.
“He was part of the historic All Whites squad which attended the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa so has plenty of experience to share with us,” August says.
2014 OFC Champions League runners-up Amicale FC goalkeeping instructor Jean Yves Galine is one of the participants, who says it is a good time for clubs affilitated to football associations around Vanuatu to think seriously about goalkeeping.
“This is the most important player on the pitch,” Galine says.
“I thank OFC and FIFA for bringing James, who has a lot of experience, and I am sure we will learn a lot from him over the four days.”
The OFC Level 1 Goalkeeping Course started on Monday, 15 September and will conclude on Thursday, 18 September at Teouma Academy.
