The promising players will spend two years honing their skills at the academy and many will go on to represent their country at U-20 level in 2013.
VFF chief executive officer Fabien Hoeppe has welcomed the players into the academy and is keen to emphasise that they have a good future in the game if they work hard to make the most of this opportunity.
“The future is bright for you all,” he told them at the induction ceremony.
“But you will have to discipline yourself and concentrate on football. If you can do that then I believe we will have a good U-20 team in 2013.”
The youngsters will learn the tricks of the trade under head coach Moise Poida and will also be guided by VFF technical director Charles Vatu and technical advisor Christian Chosson.
The list of players who have been included in the academy is as follows:
Juliane Ka, Antoine Taiwia, Eric Sam, Jeffery Bob, Jelene Waiwa, Chanel Obed, Ham Petch, Edwin Bai, Donald Avis, Manu Sablan, Romain Carlot, Kevin Amos, Steve Matariki, Andre Kalselik, Sandino Mermer, Steve Lolten, Jais Malsarani, Robert Nalo, George Mahit, Vireil Caprino, Samiu Tulangi and John Matariki.
