It’s the second time the FTF Technical Director has led a FIFA course in Noumea after leading an Elite Coaching Course in May.
“Grassroots football should be a priority for development,” Flaccadori said, “because it’s here that we construct the foundations of our football knowledge.
“Furthermore, in the development process of a player, grassroots football is the base.”
The FIFA Grassroots Coaching Course teaches techniques which can be applied in clubs by coaches across the country, with learning directed at players aged 6-12 years old.
The course looks at establishing the types of approaches required when working with this age-group to assist with their passage into 11-a-side football.
It looks at analysing the practices used in grassroots football and the repurcussions on the development of players.
The course also looks at specific roles such as goalkeeping as well as disciplines like futsal, and reinforces a common approach to football from coaches across the country.
The course switched between theory and practical sessions and was attended by more than 25 participants from across New Caledonia.
