Recently back in New Zealand for the Football Ferns Olympic qualification playoff against Papua New Guinea, Hassett flew out last week to link up with her new side after spending the latter part of 2015 with Norway’s Amazon Grimstad.
Director of women’s football in Werder Birte Brüggemann says Hassett’s arrival will “give the coaches more options and alignment in the midfield”.
The 25-year-old midfielder played her first match game with her new club over the weekend ahead of the Bundesliga re-starting after the winter break on February 14.
