OFC President David Chung was quick to congratulate his colleague on his re-election and the establishment of a new Federal Council which shares his vision for football in Tahiti.
“Thierry’s re-election for a further mandate is a reflection of his leadership and an endorsement by his membership of the good work he is doing for Tahiti football,” Chung says.
“FTF continues to succeed both on and off the field and this is down to the hard work and commitment of the President, the Federal Council, FTF administration and stakeholders.”
Ariiotima has been at the helm of FTF since November 2011 and has seen the OFC Member Association through a number of recent triumphs on both the regional and global stage.
Qualifying for the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup, successfully hosting the 2013 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup and the Tiki Toa’s recent runners-up finish in Espinho at the 2015 Beach Soccer World Cup are just some of the successes the nation has had on the field during Ariiotima’s tenure.
He has also developed a strategy for the future, Vision 2020, which aims for continued development at a grassroots level across the different football disciplines, as well as further on-field success in Oceania and beyond.
