The impressive win follows their midweek thrashing of Fiji’s U-20 national side (9-0) and gives the 2010 O-League representatives an overall lead in the competition.

Navua tried hard but Lautoka’s defence held. Striker Valerio Nawatu came off the bench in the second to score twice for a comprehensive victory.

Lautoka coach Imdad Ali credits their good preparation as a main contributing factor towards their result.

“It was a good win for us. We came prepared and did the job, I’m very proud of my boys. I asked the boys to hold on to Navua as they were a good team. We had a plan and we created a lot of opportunities and managed to score four goals,” Ali said.

This was Navua’s second consecutive loss in the 2010 National Football League.

Meanwhile Bic Power Electric Suva side put their disappointing week long loss behind them to beat 4R Electrical Ba 3-1 at home.

Ba took an early lead through Malakai Tiwa after 26 minutes but Suva were quick to react equalising through defender Krishna Sami. In the second spell, striker Lisalal Vetaukula and Noa Seru also got on the scoresheet to secure the upset victory.
