The Vanuatu assistant referee departed from Port Vila bound for Samoa on Saturday with fellow referee Robinson Banga.
Port Vila Football Association referee vice president Lencie Fred says it is a great achievement to have two officials representing Vanuatu at the OFC tournament.
“We want zero tolerance on poor officiating and would encourage our match officials to work hard at OFC competitions and always aim high because this is a sign of great things to come in the future,” Fred says.
Sese and Banga’s appointments to the OFC U-17 event comes on the back of Vanuatu’s FIFA officials having their FIFA badges renewed at a ceremony in Port Vila.
Banga and Sese were joined by referee George Bruce, assistant referees Mahit Chilia, Michael Joseph and Alick Lukai and futsal official Peter Pakotong who received all received badges from Vanuatu Football Federation president Lambert Maltock.
