Only three sides from the Port Vila competition can qualify to go on to the National Super League and Graham Dema’s side needed a win in order to progress.
The team’s hard work finally paid off in the 65th minute when a Kevin Shem cross found substitute Alista Kalip who didn’t hesitate to send it flying into the back of the Amicale net.
Amicale spurned their best chance of the second period when Jefferson Moura’s effort was blocked by Tafea keeper Selonie Iaruel.
Tafea managed to stand firm and keep Amicale’s attack out to book the final super league spot.
In the other Saturday match Spirit 08, also in need of a win, were left rueing their missed opportunities after going down 2-1 to a strong Erakor Golden Star squad.
The loss left Spirit 08 two points behind Tafea on the table and just short of qualifying for the National Super League.
The winner of the National Super League will go on to contest the 2014 OFC Champions League.
