Dragon, who posted 11 wins and three draws to take last year’s Super Ligue title and a spot in the 2013 OFC O-League, began the season on October 20 with a 2-0 win over Manu Ura, thanks to goals from Samuel Hnanyine and Raimana Li Fung Kee.
The win was followed by a 6-1 victory over OL. Mahina on day two.
For close rivals Tefana, a double from Axel Williams in quick succession counted towards their 5-1 victory over Central Sport.
However, day two showed the Coupe de Tahiti Nui victors that the Ligue is still a long way from being decided after they could only manage a 1-0 win against a Ronui side which has proven it will be difficult to beat this season.
The game’s only goal came from new recruit Temarii Tinorua, who now has two from as many matches for his new side, supporting the decision to recruit him from neighbouring club Tamarii Faa’a.
Meanwhile Tinorua’s former side Tamarii Faa’a could only manage a 2-2 draw against Manu Ura in their second match, after defeating Ronui 2-0 in their first match.
Currently sitting in or close to the relegation zone are T. Punaruu, who is yet to play any matches, Central Sport, Pirae, Roniu and Vaiete.
The Mana Ligue continues with day three on Wednesday October 30, with matches kicking off at 7pm and 9pm local time.
