The delayed start date of a referee training course combined with the late withdrawals of both the Gaitcha and Magenta teams has forced the Fédération Calédonienne de Football to not only postpone but also reorganise the competition’s format.
Rather than the original “checkerboard” format it will now be transformed into an elimination tournament, with the teams grouped in two pools based on geography – north and south.
In the northern group are Grand Nord, Baco, Goa and Hienghéne Sport with the pool playing semi-finals and a final to find a winner and runner-up.
In the southern group are USC, AS Wet, ES Maré, Entente Sud, AS Lössi, Tiga Sport, Auteuil and Mont-Dore. This pool will see teams playing off in quarter and semi-finals ahead of the final.
The two victorious teams from both northern and southern will then face off against each other in one final match to see who will take home the trophy.
