A total of 31 teams will be competing in five different divisions over the next two weeks during the Football Federation of American Samoa (FFAS) Summer Youth League.
“This is one competition we do not intend on missing every year and we are thankful to the Kananfou leaders for allowing us to use their field while ours is under going an upgrade,” FFAS chief executive Tavita Taumua says.
“We are looking forward to watching these young children play and we hope they all enjoy themselves.”
The league kicked off with an opening ceremony on Monday morning, followed by the boys’ 12 to 14 and mixed six to eight age divisions getting the action underway.
All divisions will play in two round robins with the top four teams from all 12 to 14 and 15 to 17 age groups advancing to the play-offs scheduled for August 7.
Games will be played on Tuesday, Thursdays and Saturdays for the next two weeks.
